Liverpool have announced they agreed a multi-year sponsorship deal with Nike worth £80million per year, MySportDab reports.

Their partnership with the American sports brand will start on June 1, 2020 with Nike to cover the kits for the senior men’s team, women’s team, coaching staff, academy squads and Liverpool FC Foundation.
Liverpool’s agreemenent with Nike will let the club earn more than Manchester United’s current deal with adidas in which they earn £75m a year.
Manchester United’s contract with adidas was a British record but they have been overtaken by their rivals.
MySportDab understands Barcelona (£100m) and Real Madrid (£98m) are the only European teams who will earn more than Liverpool through this Nike kit sponsorship.
Current sponsors New Balance were desperate to keep their partnership with Liverpool but the club have decided to end ties with the company.
Liverpool said in a statement: ‘Liverpool Football Club are delighted to announce Nike, the world’s leading footwear brand, as its new official kit supplier from 2020-21 season.
‘The partnership works with our move into a new, well improved training facility in Kirkby for the 2020-21 campaign, a project that shows investment in improved sport facilities for the environment.’
Liverpool’s director Billy Hogan added: ‘Our iconic kit is a crucial part of our identity and history. We welcome Nike into the Liverpool Football Club family as our official new kit supplier and we expect them to be an incredible partner for the club, both globally and home as we continue to expand our fanbase.
‘As a brand, Nike reflects our ambitions for growth, and we look forward to them bringing the fans and exciting products.’
Nike chief Bert Hoyt said: ‘Liverpool Football Club has such a proud heritage and identity.
‘The partnership with Liverpool FC shows our leadership in global football and with the club’s great worldwide fanbase and strong legacy of glory, they have a very bright future ahead.
‘We look forward to working with them to serve the players and supporters with Nike design and innovations.’
Nike will surely be excited at the timing of this agreement as the current European champions Liverpool are now top of the Premier League and likely to win the title.
Jurgen Klopp’s team are 13 points clear of second-placed Leicester at the top and still have a match in hand over the Foxes.
