Manchester United and Adidas have officially pulled back the curtain on the club’s home kit for the 2026/27 season.
In a launch that blends the nostalgia of the 1970s with the cutting-edge performance of the mid-2020s, the Red Devils have delivered a design that honors the club’s storied heritage while looking firmly toward a future back in the Champions League.
The 2026/27 home jersey is a sophisticated tribute to one of the most beloved eras in Manchester United’s history.

Drawing direct inspiration from the classic Admiral kits worn between 1975 and 1980, the new shirt features a striking red base complemented by a classic polo collar.
The standout aesthetic features includes; the collar and sleeve cuffs feature bold white and black stripes, a nod to the 1977 Domestic Cup-winning side.
For the first time in several seasons, a unique United icon designed to resemble a waving flag is placed on the back of the neck, celebrating the bond between the team and its global terrace culture.
While the red remains vibrant, the use of clean white for the Adidas three-stripes and the Snapdragon front-of-shirt sponsor provides a sharp, modern contrast.
While the look is retro, the technology is anything but. Adidas has equipped the authentic version of the kit with CLIMACOOL+ technology, featuring engineered ventilation zones.
The technology ensures that stars like Amad Diallo and Benjamin Sesko remain cool under the pressure of European nights.
The launch also carries significant financial weight. Following United’s successful qualification for the Champions League, the club has avoided the £10 million penalty clause in their Adidas contract, ensuring the partnership remains at its full valuation of £90 million per year.
Fans won’t have to wait long to see the new threads in action. In a break from traditional pre-season debuts, the club has confirmed the kit will be worn three times before the current month ends.
The kit went on sale today at 9:00 AM at the Old Trafford Megastore and online. Early reactions from the Red Army have been largely positive, with supporters praising the return of the polo collar.
However, some online debate has sparked regarding the thickness of the Adidas stripes on the long-sleeve version which many have their divided opinions.
As Manchester United prepares for a new chapter under Michael Carrick’s leadership and a return to the elite stage of European football, this kit serves as a symbolic bridge honoring the legends of 1977 while equipping the icons of 2026.
