Man City Plot Sensational £100m+ Hijack For Chelsea Midfield Anchor

Manchester City are lining up what could be a sensational move for Chelsea midfield anchor ahead of the summer transfer window 2026.

The London club might be seeing another big personality leave the club amid ongoing drama which recently saw Liam Rosenior being sacked for poor run of form.

Manchester City are looking to capitalize on Chelsea woes by going after an important player of their team when the summer transfer window opens.

City are not just looking at one option they could explore in the market as they have their sight on Nottingham Forest’s Elliot Anderson.

Real Madrid are also among the Chelsea midfielder admirers, but everything still remain unclear if an attempt would be made in the summer window.

However, Manchester City would do everything possible to try their luck on Enzo Fernandez while report of Maresca coming in to take over for next season.

The talks concerning the Argentina international leaving Chelsea has been going on for a while despite Liam Rosenior being sacked.

Recently, Fernandez commented Real Madrid during the international break which force a decision to be made to suspend him for two games.

Manchester City’s interest in the midfielder comes as the club prepare to lose midfielder Bernardo Silva who earlier confirmed he will leave when the season comes to an end.

The Portugal international time at the Etihad Stadium is already at an end as both club and player made announcements of exit.

There is also concern about Rodri with his contract set to expire in the 2027, but the club remain positive they can keep him longer.

Rodri did talked about returning to Spain back in March. His comments did open the door for a Real Madrid move which almost happened before he got injured.

However, according to TheAthletic, they confirmed Manchester City are not only looking at Enzo Fernandez, but they are eyeing the possibility of signing Elliot Anderson.

Fernandez is currently under a contract that runs until 2032 with Chelsea, and any decision to sell will see them demand at around €100 million plus.

There were talks earlier where the midfielder’s agent Javier Pastore said if they can’t each an agreement to sign a new terms after World Cup, his client will leave.

Chelsea signed Enzo Fernandez from Benfica for a transfer fee at around €120million in 2023, and he has helped the club won the Club World Cup alongside the Conference League.
