Tottenham Part Ways with Igor Tudor After Brief and Turbulent Spell

Igor Tudor has left his role as interim head coach of Tottenham Hotspur by mutual consent after just 44 days in charge, the club confirmed on Sunday, bringing an abrupt end to a difficult stint in north London, MySportDab Reports.

The Croatian was initially appointed to stabilize Spurs following the disappointing tenure of Thomas Frank, but results failed to improve. Tottenham remain just one point above the relegation zone in the Premier League, with pressure mounting after a series of poor performances.

A heavy 5-2 defeat to Atletico Madrid in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League last-16 tie was a major low point, highlighting the team’s struggles under Tudor.

Although Spurs showed some resilience by drawing with Liverpool and defeating Atletico in the return leg, those results were overshadowed by damaging league defeats, including a 3-0 loss to Nottingham Forest.

Tudor’s tenure was also marked by questionable tactical decisions, notably starting goalkeeper Antonin Kinsky against Atletico Madrid, a move that backfired after two costly errors led to goals before he was substituted early in the match.

In an official statement, Tottenham confirmed the departures of Tudor’s backroom staff, including goalkeeping coach Tomislav Rogic and physical coach Riccardo Ragnacci.

The club also expressed sympathy following the recent passing of Tudor’s father, which is believed to have influenced the timing of his exit.

Spurs now face a critical period as they battle to avoid relegation, an outcome the club has not experienced since the 1970s. With just seven matches remaining, attention turns to securing a permanent replacement.

Former manager Harry Redknapp has been linked with a return, while Adi Hutter has emerged as a leading candidate to take over the managerial role.
