Rodri is dominating the headlines after he made a bold admission on his future at Manchester City and a potential transfer exit from the club, MySportDab reports.
The Spaniard has been at the heart of the winning juggernaut that Pep Guardiola has created out of Manchester City and is still considered key to the club’s plans.
However, it appears City should now be bracing for the potential exit of the Spaniard sooner with his contract at the club running out.
With one year left on his contract with the club, Rodri has admitted he is open to leaving the Premier League as he still fancies a potential return to the La Liga, where he began his career.
“I like the Premier League, but I would like to return to the La Liga. I still follow it,” he said.
He further went on to address the state of his contract with Manchester City, adding he will have to sit down with the club to decide his future.
“I have one year left on my contract at Man City. At some point we’ll have to sit down and talk.”
Rodri’s admission on the state his contract with Manchester City shows the two parties have yet to resume talks on potentially extending his contract with 12 months left.
This means the player will be open to entering contract talks with his potential suitors at the end of the season and may likely call an end to his almost a decade-long spell with City.
He has been strongly linked to a move to Real Madrid – a transfer he may not likely turn down given his latest gesticulations and comments.
