Chelsea have made decision on the future of Liam Rosenior as pressure kept piling on the Blues’ boss following the team’s poor performance under his watch, MySportDab reports.
Rosenior joined Chelsea from Strasbourg earlier this season, replacing Enzo Maresca and was tasked to at least secure Champions League football for the team next season.
19 games down the line, it appears the Blues is not only losing out in the race for Champions League football next season, but are set for a trophyless run this season.
They have lost seven of their 19 games, winning 10 and drawing two and this patchy record has seen crash out of the Champions League and EFL Cup, and sit points behind the Champions League places in the Premier League standings.
Categorically, their underwhelming performances has also brought Liam Rosenior’s role under intense scrutiny, with reports he could be relieved of the role sooner.
Amidst speculations on the English gaffers’ future in the Blues’ dugout, he is reportedly under no pressure from the Chelsea hierarchy at the moment.
According to the Mirror, Chelsea are not considering sacking Liam Rosenior despite the club’s dismal run of result and are confident on his capacity to turn the team’s dwindling fortunes around.
Nevertheless, it’s not a clean slate for the Rosenior, the report adds, as he could be relieved of his role if the club’s poor form worsened during the run-in.
Chelsea returns to action in the FA Cup quarterfinal against third-tier club Port Vale on Saturday, March 4, after the international break before welcoming Manchester City to the Stamford Bridge in a crunch Premier League tie.
Rosenior will look to turn around the conversation on his chances at the club with strong results in the those two matches.
