Osimhen Makes History as Galatasaray Knock Juventus Out of Champions League

Victor Osimhen etched his name into club history as Galatasaray SK eliminated Juventus FC in a pulsating Champions League play-off on Wednesday night, MySportDab Reports.

The Nigerian striker struck in extra time to seal a dramatic 7-5 aggregate victory, becoming the foreign player with the most European competition goals in Galatasaray’s history with 13, surpassing Czech forward Milan Baros, who previously held the record with 12.

Juventus, trailing from the first leg in Turkey, began the return fixture with urgency and took the lead in the 37th minute when captain Manuel Locatelli converted from the penalty spot after Khephren Thuram was fouled.

The Italian side’s hopes suffered a setback early in the second half when Lloyd Kelly was sent off for a reckless challenge.

Despite being reduced to 10 men, Juventus showed resilience as Federico Gatti and Weston McKennie scored to level the tie and force extra time.

However, Osimhen delivered the decisive blow, rifling a low finish through Mattia Perin’s legs before Baris Alper Yılmaz added another to seal the win.

The former African Player of the Year, who now has seven goals in this season’s competition, produced a commanding display and was named man of the match.

Galatasaray will discover on Friday whether they face Liverpool FC or Tottenham Hotspur FC in the Round of 16.
