Man United, Arsenal In Race For Ex-Chelsea Star

Manchester United and Arsenal are locked in a tight race to sign former Chelsea star in the summer transfer window, MySportDab reports.

United have recorded an impressive turnaround under interim manager and former player Michael Carrick, but are looking to boost their attacking ranks in the summer after zero activity in the just-concluded January transfer window.

Arsenal are also having their best season domestically and in Europe as a team, but their forward options appear not to live up to the billing.

For instance, both Bukayo Saka and Viktor Gyokeres have only managed single-digit goal tallies in the Premier League season, with Saka and Martinelli walking a prolonged goal drought that got fans talking.

In the wake of this falling output from the team’s frontline forwards, proceedings are said to be underway to poach former Premier League attacker Christian Pulisic into the team’s attacking ranks come next summer.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is reportedly a strong admirer of the USA international and is ready to splash as much as £48m to seal a deal with AC Milan for his services.

However, they will face stiff competition from Premier League rivals Manchester United, who are also keen on adding Pulisic to their attacking ranks in the summer.

Pulisic has been key to the AC Milan squad since joining the Serie A side in the 2023–24 season. He has tallied 31 Serie A goals, plus 19 assists for the club, including 8 goals and two assists this season.

He starred for Arsenal’s London rivals Chelsea from 2019 to 2023, winning 93 Premier League caps, and scoring 20 goals for the Blues before the move to AC Milan.

He will enter the final 12 months of his AC Milan contract next season with the club reportedly open to sanctioning his transfer exit if both parties fail to agree on a new deal.
