Brazilian club Sao Paulo have issued a statement to clear the air on reports of Oscar’s medical emergency, MySportDab reports.
Oscar reportedly suffered a cardiac problem while undergoing a test to recover from his muscle injury and had to be immediately hospitalized.
An official club statement from Sao Paulo, Oscar suffered confirmed “an incident involving cardiological irregularities” with the player.

They also added that the 34-year-old is stable after the setback but is under observation by medical experts.
Further reports reveal Oscar collapsed while on a stationary bike in the Sao Paulo training facility and was immediately attended to by the Sao Paulo medical team before being transported to the hospital for comprehensive care.
Notably, it is not the first time the former Chelsea player and two-time Premier League champion has suffered medical setbacks in his career.
Early in August 2025, he was again placed under scrutiny for a similar heart condition as he was recovering from a spinal injury.
He was later cleared to return to action after successfully recovering from the blow. However, this led to concerns about how long he could continue in the game.
Meanwhile, he reportedly admitted to considering retirement from the game should his health issues linger. MySportDab understands he is contracted to Sao Paulo until 2027, but is open to calling time in his career following the recent health blow.
He has scored two goals in 21 appearances for the club. Known for his high football IQ, stealthy moves, and exceptional playmaking abilities, Oscar is more likely to hang the boots following this recent cardiac issue.
