Manchester United Plot Shock Move For Vinicius Jr

Manchester United are set to weigh into the race to sign Vinicius Jr from Real Madrid, MySportDab reports.

Vinicius Jr has endured a difficult chapter with Real Madrid under new manager Xabi Alonso. According to Spanish reports, relationship between the Brazil winger and the former Bayer Leverkusen boss has been frosty since the latter made the surprise decision to bench him in the FIFA Club World Cup semi-final against PSG.

Additionally, Alonso hasn’t blinked on his decision to enforce a more rigid and controlled team play with little room for creative players like Vinicius Jr. This has led to a drastic reduction in Vinicius Jr’s minutes, with Kylian Mbappe emerging as the new go-to-player for the club.

The high point of Vini’s frustration with the new boss came in the last El Clasico when he clearly crashed out and angrily walked off the field for being subbed off in the game.

Nevertheless, Alonso has remained unbent in his decision for a new team tactic, pitting the Brazilian against his compatriot Rodrygo for playing time.

This heightened tension has fueled reports of the players’ possible exit from Los Blancos in the January transfer window.

According to The Mirror, Manchester United are among the top clubs monitoring the situation with Vinicius and could make a surprise move for the player.

United have yet to break even despite their new attacking signings this summer and are considering further reinforcement with Rodrygo a potential target, the report adds.

MySportDab understands Vinicius Jr has yet to renew his Real Madrid contract with two years left on the deal and this recent developments could further drive away the player from the Bernabeu.

However, a possible plot twist is also being projected should Alonso returns the player to the centre of his Real Madrid plan, giving him more minutes.

Real Madrid returns to action in mid-week Champions League clash on Wednesday with all eyes on Alonso’s starting lineup amidst this seething tension with Vini.
