Man United Four Midfield Targets For January Confirmed

Manchester United have opted to strengthen their midfield in the January transfer window to better their fortunes for the remainder of the season, MySportDab reports.

After a screeching start to the season, the Old Trafford club are gradually finding their rhythm with series of improved results lately.

They drew Tottenham 2-2 in their last game before the November international break to extend their unbeaten run in the English top flight to five matches.

However, manager Ruben Amorim is targeting further reinforcements in the midfield in January to strengthen the team, per the Mirror.

This decision has been linked to imminent changes in United’s midfield composition, with Casemiro and Kobbie Mainoo facing uncertain futures.

The Mirror adds that four names have already been identified by the club as potential new additions come January transfer window.

Leading the list is England and Nottingham Forest midfield sensation Elliot Andersen. However, it is understood the youngster won’t be an easy catch for the Red Devils.

Nottingham Forest consider him key to their midfield plan and have reportedly slammed a £100m asking price on his head to deter suitors. Newcastle are also said to be in the race for the player.

Cameroonian midfielder Carlos Baleba is also in the shortlist. United targeted Baleba in the last transfer window but backed off due to financial constraints and are now set to renew interest in the player.

24-year-old Wolves midfielder Joao Gomes is also on the mix, including Atletico Madrid and former Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher.
