Osimhen Returns with a Bang, Sets New Nigerian Champions League Record

Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen returned to Galatasaray’s starting lineup for their crucial UEFA Champions League clash and immediately delivered, scoring the decisive goal in their win over Liverpool, MySportDab Reports.

Playing for the first time in a month after an ankle injury, Osimhen proved his value by confidently converting a penalty in the 15th minute.

He tucked the spot kick down the middle, sending Liverpool goalkeeper Alisson Becker diving the wrong way after Dominik Szoboszlai was penalized.

Though substituted in the 72nd minute, the goal was historic. The strike against the six-time UCL winners was Osimhen’s 10th goal in the Champions League (in just 18 appearances), officially surpassing Obafemi Martins’ record of nine goals.

Victor Osimhen now stands alone as the Nigerian player with the most goals in UEFA Champions League history.
