FIFA have officially sanctioned points deduction and fine on South Africa national team for their World Cup qualifiers match, MySportDab reports.
The investigation into the case has been ongoing for a long time after it was discovered that an ineligible player was fielded against Lesotho.
The group which contains Nigeria and Benin are now in favor of closing down the gap between them and the Bafana Bafana.
However, the situation might be one which holds no significance as South Africa are already in a good position to finish top with two games left.
According to reports from ESPN, they confirmed the decision which was made official today via FIFA.

“FIFA’s Disciplinary Committee has sanctioned South African Football Association for fielding ineligible player Teboho Mokoena vs. Lesotho in March’s World Cup qualifier.
“South Africa must forfeit the match 3-0 and pay a CHF 10,000 fine to FIFA. SAFA has 10 days to appeal.
The decision looks solid enough to stay the same way despite the South Africa body have the opportunity of making an appeal.
For now, there is no respond on whether the decision will be appealed by the South Africa federation or allow the situation be as they still have control of qualification.
