Liverpool Handed Alexander Isak Boost In Shock Transfer Twist

Liverpool have been handed a big boost in the pursuit of wantaway Newcastle United forward Alexander Isak, MySportDab reports.

The Reds have been on the trail of Isak since the beginning of the transfer window, but faced stiff objection from Newcastle United.

Meanwhile, Isak has been pushing earnestly to switch to the Merseyside outfit. Agreement on personal terms is understood not to be a problem.

However, Newcastle’s stance has been clear. They have insisted the Swedish forward is not for sale this summer or, at best, they must secure a new forward if they are allow him leave.

An over £100m first bid from Liverpool has been rejected to that effect as the Magpies double down on their no-sale decision.

However, they have also been on the search for a possible replacement should they lose the battle to keep the 26-year-old.

Now, according to latest reports, Liverpool have been handed a big boost in their pursuit of Isak as Newcastle are now closing in on signing top-rated Wolves forward Strand Larsen.

Wolves have turned down two bids from Newcastle United for Larsen, but are ready to part ways with the player at the right offer.

Per close sources, Newcastle United are to submit a new bid for the former Celta Vigo forward to meet Wolves’ asking price before the transfer window shuts down.

It is understood the Magpies could soften their stance, letting  Isak leave if they can close the deal for Larsen.

However, Liverpool will have to race against time to seal the move before the September 1st deadline.
