Federico Chiesa Makes U-Turn on Liverpool Future

Italian midfield sensation Federico Chiesa has made a U-turn on his Liverpool exit decision, MySportDab reports.

Chiesa, who joined the Reds for £12.5m in 2024 summer, has seen his sporting fortunes nosedive.

Despite 0 injury cases, he has been deep down the pecking order in Liverpool’s new manager Arne Slot’s midfield peckings.

He could only manage six Premier League appearances for the Reds last season and three in the Carabao Cup, scoring one goal plus one assist.

With the prolonged spell on the bench, Chiesa dominated the transfer headlines in the January transfer window with reports linking him to a possible return to the Serie A.

This summer, his Liverpool future was again on the searchlights as Slot shows no sign of relaxing his setup to allow regular game time for the corner Juventus star.

Sources close to the player revealed he could be open to leaving the Premier League champions this summer for a new chapter to fight for his career.

Slot also gesticulated towards allowing the player to leave in his press conferences, insisting that underperforming players in his fold must rise to the challenge to earn their place in the regular IX.

Now, the dynamics in the Liverpool squad may be favouring Chiesa’s integration into the team’s regular starters.

With Liverpool losing their winger Luis Diaz to Bayern Munich, Chiesa is reportedly likely to gradually creep his way into Slot’s starting XI and these promising prospects have prompted the player to make a U-turn on his initial decision to leave, per Fabrizio Romano.

The 27-year-old delivered instant impact coming on as a substitute in the Premier League’s opening weekend against Bournemouth.

He scored his first Premier League goal for Liverpool in the 4-2 victory over Bournemouth in the opening weekend to signal a new dawn after his prolonged Anfield deadlock.
