Oleksandr Usyk reaffirmed his place among boxing’s greats with a dominant fifth-round knockout victory over Daniel Dubois, becoming the undisputed heavyweight world champion for a second time, MySportDab Reports.
In a rematch of their controversial 2023 bout, Usyk left no doubts this time around, showcasing his elite footwork, lightning-fast combinations, and supreme ring IQ to dismantle the younger Englishman.
The 38-year-old Ukrainian dropped Dubois twice in the fifth round before the referee waved off the contest following a devastating left hand to the chin.
With the win, Usyk makes history once more—becoming the only boxer to hold undisputed titles across two weight divisions on three separate occasions.
Now 24-0, Usyk’s résumé features two wins each over Anthony Joshua, Tyson Fury, and Dubois. He also boasts a perfect 8-0 record against British fighters.
“38 is a young guy, remember!” Usyk joked post-fight. “It’s only the start. But now I want rest—two or three months at home with my family.”
Dubois, now 22-3, showed heart but couldn’t keep up with Usyk’s relentless pace. “I gave everything I had,” he said. “There were things I could have done better, but I’ll be back.”
Usyk controlled the bout from the first bell, dancing around the ring and landing at will. By the fourth round, he began pressing forward, before finishing the job clinically in the fifth.
Speculation now turns to Usyk’s next opponent. While a trilogy bout with Tyson Fury is possible, Usyk teased several names: “Maybe Tyson Fury. Maybe Derek Chisora. Maybe Anthony Joshua. Maybe Joseph Parker. I cannot say now.”
For now, Usyk’s focus is rest—but his legacy as one of the sport’s all-time greats is already secure.
