Nico Williams have signed a new long term contract with Athletic Bilbao amid negotiations with Barcelona, MySportDab reports.
The player was expected to make a move which numerous talks had already go on behind the scene and was expected to be done.
The Spain International did gave the green light after Barcelona made the approach to make a deal happen this summer window.
However, some held up happened and the deal was put on hold with all parties worked hard to make sure things got done.
The problem started when the player put in a request which would give assurance to register him if he makes the move.
It seems nothing was done afterwards and it prompted a quick reaction from Bilbao as they decided to tie the player down.
According to Athletic Club, they confirmed Nico Willams have signed a long term contract which will keep him until 2035.

“When it comes to making decisions, for me, the most important thing is to listen to your heart.
“I am where I want to be, with my people, this is my home. Aupa Athletic!”, said the red and white winger in the video that the Club launched at its social media.
Nico Williams is now tied to Athletico Club for the next 10 years which the likelihood of any move is close to impossible.
