Manchester United have been handed a big boost in their move for Benjamin Sesko, MySportDab reports.
The Red Devils have been locked in a right race with European and Premier League rivals for the services of the sensational forward.
However, their main opposition is coming from English neighbours Newcastle United.
The Magpies are desperately in need of a forward to step into the shoes of exit-bound Alexander Isak.
They initially eyed Hugo Ekitike but were beaten by Liverpool to the signing of the French striker. Eddie Howe’s side have also seen a couple of bids for forwards rejected with Sesko now a top option on their radar.
However, United appear to be in the pole position to sign the player based on recent reports.
According to Plettigoal, Manchester United have been handed a boost in their move for Sesko as the player is reportedly impressed with the efforts.
However, his preferred destination is yet unclear with Newcastle United speeding up their attempt to sign him.
He is understood to be open to an exit this summer, and RB Leipzig are ready to sanction his sale, but at the right offer
Notably, despite United’s strong interest and efforts, it is yet unclear whether they are ready to break the bank to meet Leipzig’s valuation of the player.
They have already spent over £120m on the attacking duo of Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo and another big spend this summer could upset their financial fair play balance sheet.
Leipzig reportedly wants £80m for the player and Newcastle United are set to submit a £71m opening bid with United likely to submit a similar high offer soon.
