Sergio Ramos scored but it wasn’t enough as Lautaro Martinez made sure Inter Milan played a 1-1 draw against Monterrey, MySportDab reports.

The UEFA Champions League finalist escaped almost losing to their Mexican opponent at their FIFA Club World Cup opener.

Both teams had their preparations before coming into the match with a plan of making something happen.

The odds were mainly in favor of the Champions League finalist who many expects to have it very easy against their opponent.

Both clubs couldn’t break each other down in the first 20 minutes which was all about them pressing and making opportunities.

Sergio Ramos scored with a well placed header in the 25th which was assisted by Oliver Torres as they made things 1-0.

The opener saw things became more interesting as the Italian started fighting back to make sure they responded.

Lautaro Martinez was able to level things 1-1 with a top class finish which was assisted by Carlos Augusto as they both carried on.

The remaining part of the match was evenly balanced with both of them pressing and making sure they had things covered.

The second 45 minutes didn’t produce anything much, but it was an end to end competition that could have easily gone one way.

It ended with Monterrey playing a 1-1 draw against Inter Milan after 90 minutes which made sure they took one point each.
