Jair Cunha and Igor Jesus scored as Botafogo claimed an important 2-1 victory against Seattle Sounders, MySportDab reports.

The Brazil club opened their FIFA Club World Cup campaign with a commanding victory against American League side.

The match began with lots of hope for the MLS side who were hoping to get something out of their opponent.

It was a different case as the Brazilian side came with same mindset of taking everything in the encounter.

The American side had all the home advantage but they couldn’t make anything count as they were pushed back so much.

The first 25 minutes of the game saw both teams unable to make anything count in front of goal as they pushed on.

Jair Cunha was able to break the deadlock with a goal in the 28th minutes thanks to a wonderful assist which came from Alex Telles.

It was 1-0 with still more left to be played by both teams who kept on pushing for more to happen against themselves.

Igor Jesus doubled the advantage in the 44th minutes teaming up with Vitinho who made the assist as the encounter turned 2-0.

The game wasn’t done as they both came into the remaining 45 minutes with more work needed to happen.

It was a dry second half which both teams did well enough to hold their ground with countless pressure from both ends.

The MSL pulled one goal back through Cristian Roldan in the 76th minutes with an assist from Paul Rothrock which made it 2-1.

The game continued until the final whistle which saw both teams staying with same 2-1 result in favor of the Brazilian team.
