Mohamed Salah has been crowned the Premier League Player of the Season, MySportDab reports.
The Egyptian forward has been an integral part of the Reds’ title-winning squad this season. He is topping the goal-scoring charts this season with 28 League goals.
Overall, he has accumulated a career-record number of goal contributions, tallying a staggering 46 G/A to facilitate the team’s ride to the title win.
Notably, Salah’s heroics for the Reds this season wasn’t limited to the Premier League. He shone bright in the team’s Champions League league phase campaign, scoring three goals plus four assists in 9 appearances.
In the EFL Cup, the prolific winger netted twice and assisted once before Liverpool crashed out of the competition.
With his stellar and notable performances in consideration, he led the pool of other nominees as the clear favorite to clinch the award.
It is worth noting Salah had to wrestle this award from two of his Liverpool teammates who were nominated. This includes Ryan Gravenbech and Virgil van Dijk.
The pair equally had impressive individual campaigns with the team en route to the league title triumph.
Other nominees slated for the award were Nottingham Forest duo Chris Wood and Morgan Gibbs-White.
Swedish and Newcastle United forward Alexander Isak and Brentford star Bryan Mbeumo also made the list, including Arsenal’s Declan Rice.
While the aforementioned categorically deserved their nominations with their standout performances, Salah was clear of the mark with one of his best individual campaigns in a season.
He will hope to replicate this rollercoaster run next season as he sets out for a new two-year chapter with the Reds.
