Ryan Gravenberch Wins EPL Young Player of The Season

Ryan Gravenberch has won the Premier League Young Player of the Season following his stellar outing with the Reds in the campaign, MySportDab reports.

Gravenberch won 25 league matches with Liverpool this season and his contributions in those victories have been unmatched.

Playing as a midfielder, the former Bayern Munich attacker, bossed the middle of the park for the Reds, providing four assists.

He also tops the list of young players in the English top flight this season with double-digit chances created.

Breaking down his performances in the campaign, the 22-year-old created 24 big chances for Liverpool, proving a vital part of the Reds’ winning machine under Slot.

Also, the stats show that no other Liverpool player has won more possession back from their opponents than Gravenbech in the season. He has done this 185 times.

The Dutch is also among the young players with the most duels in the campaign, tallying 176. He has also won 67 tackles and made 57 interceptions.

Another top young player who rivalled Gravenberch for the award is Bournemouth defender Dean Huijsen, who tallied 114 duels won and played a big part in Andoni Iraola’s team.

Cole Palmer, who had 15 goals plus eight assists for Chelsea this term, also made the list, including Aston Villa’s Morgan Rogers and Arsenal’s William Saliba.

23-year-old Joao Pedro, who scored 10 times for Brighton in the campaign, was also nominated for the award but wasn’t expected to measure up to Gravenberch’s heroics.

Gravenberch was largely tipped to win the award following Liverpool’s success and his contributions in the run.
