Rodrygo has finally addressed reports linking him to a transfer exit from Real Madrid this summer, MySportDab reports.
The 24-year-old’s future with Los Blancos has dominated the headlines after he missed the title-deciding El-Clasico against Barcelona at the weekend.
According to Marca, Rodrygo sat out the El-Clasico match as he pressed to leave the club this summer due to his dwindling fortunes lately.
However, Carlo Ancelotti later confirmed the Brazilian forward had a fever instead and was left out of the squad to aid his recovery.
Despite Ancelotti’s remarks, Spanish sources claim Rodrygo has made up his mind to leave Real Madrid this summer for a new challenge due to the competition in the squad and his falling fortunes.
The different narratives have so far served to heighten uncertainties on Rodrygo’s future with a few weeks left before the summer transfer window.
Now, the footballer has come out to publicly address the rumors and provide update on his future with Real Madrid.
In a 16-word post on social media, the prolific winger aimed a satirical remark on the peddlers of his exit rumors, affirming that he is strongly in the Los Blancos squad and has no intentions to leave.
“Thanks for all the concerns and message. I will be back soon. Stop making things up,” he wrote.
Rodrygo has six goals and five assists in 30 La Liga appearances for Real Madrid this season and has been an integral member of Carlo Ancelotti’s squad.
He has been used a third-man attacker, anchoring the right wing in Ancelotti’s 4-3-3 attacking formula.
However, with Xavi Alonso set to replace Ancelotti and settle for a two-man attack featuring Kylian Mbappe and Vinicius Jr, his role in the squad is likely to diminish.
Despite drowning rumors of his imminent summer exit from Los Blancos, Rodrygo’s future with the club is still enshrouded in uncertainty as the managerial position of the club changes hands.
