Manchester United vs Tottenham UEL Final Preview, Lineup, And Prediction

Premier League bitter rivals, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur will lock horns on Wednesday, in the 2024/25 Europa League Final, MySportDab reports.

Both teams have endured what has been an underwhelming campaign. They are now set to end their Premier League campaign in the bottom half of the rankings, with Manchester United 16th and Tottenham Hotspur sitting in the 17th place.

Ruben Amorim will be desperately hoping his team can continue their fine form in Europe heading into Wednesday’s showdown.

It has been an almost flawless showing from the Manchester based side in the Europe second tier competition. They have marched all the way into the final of the competition without losing a single game, the only team to do so in European competitions this campaign.

While their domestic campaign has been nothing to write home about, with the team now condemned to register their worst ever point score in a Premier League season, the fans will undoubtedly look up to their stats in the Europa League this season as a source of optimism.

Same can be said for Ange Postecoglou’s side. The London based team have struggled with an horrific campaign in the Premier League this season, with the team now looking to set an unwanted record of their lowest ever Premier League finish ever.

However, similarly to Manchester United, their form on the European scene has been impressive. They finished fourth in the group stage of the competition, and lost just two games out of the 14 they’ve played so far.

Head-To-Head

Recent meetings between both sides will be having the Tottenham Hotspur fans brimming with confidence heading into this clash.

Both teams have met three times this season, with the London based side taking the crown on the three occasions, scoring eight goals in total over the course of the matches while Manchester United have managed three.

Lisandro Martinez and Joshua Zirkzee are confirmed absentees from the Manchester United squad list heading into this tie.

Matthijs De Light, Leny Yoro and Diogo Dalot are doubtful.

James Maddison is not expected to feature for Tottenham Hotspur, with the midfielder still nursing a knee injury.

Dejan Kulusevski, Radu Dragusin are also key members not expected to feature for the London based side.

Our Prediction

Based on their most recent meetings, Tottenham Hotspur could be considered the favourites to ace this tie. However, United boast a richer history in Europe and will aim to leverage same against the Londoners. We are tipping United to win the trophy.
