The Blues started off well seeing more of the ball while they pushed forward to look what they could put together for themselves.

Jadon Sancho and Noni Madueke struck either side of half-time to put Chelsea firmly in control before Nicolas Jackson came off the bench to net a second-half brace.

The London Club broke the deadlock in the 12th minute when Jadon Sancho capitalized on a deflected shot to beat goalkeeper Andreas Isaksson and send the Blues in front.

Midfielder Enzo Fernández was instrumental, supplying the cross for Sancho’s opener and then teeing up Noni Madueke just before the interval to double the advantage.

Manager Enzo Maresca rotated the squad at half-time introducing Moisés Caicedo, Cole Palmer, Trevoh Chalobah and Nicolas Jackson to ensure he preserve energy for the Premier League clash at the weekend.

Nicolas Jackson marked his introduction by exploiting defensive confusion to curl home from close range in the 59th minute, extending the lead to 3-0.

Jackson bagged his second in the 65th minute, collecting an inspired midfield recovery and guiding a composed finish into the top corner.

Despite an impressive header from 18-year-old Isak Alemayehu to pull one back for the hosts, Chelsea made sure they claimed a vital 1-4 victory ahead of the second leg.
