Liverpool’s title party celebrations have turned sour following a disastrous car crash, MySportDab reports.
Jubilant Liverpool fans, joyously marching through the city center were left with various degrees of injuries as a passing car accidentally swerved in their direction.
Footage of the incident, which we have shared at the end of this post, showed fans screaming with palpable fear and shock as the car ran through the crowd with speed.
Eyewitness reports confirm thousands of fans had gathered in the Wall Street to celebrate the club’s milestone triumph by 6pm when the disaster struck.
Details of the report revealed the car beeped loudly before accidently crashing into the crowd.
At the time of filing this report, no casualties has been confirmed yet but victims were reportedly ranged from children to adults, including a baby.
Emergency services, who ran to the secure of the victims, have confirmed scores have been injured and hospitalized.
Also, a man, identified as a 53-year-old, has been arrested by the police in connection with the incident with investigations underway.
It has yet to be ascertained whether the driver intentionally ran into the vulnerable crowd or not.
Meanwhile, the UK counter-terrorism department have reportedly joined the investigation amidst fears it must have been an intentional act linked to terrorists.
