FT: Real Madrid 1-2 Arsenal, Los Blancos Crash Out of UCL! [VIDEO HIGHLIGHTS]

Arsenal have knocked out Real Madrid from the 2024-25 Champions League quarter-final, MySportDab reports.

The Gunners held firm at the Santiago Bernabeu to edge out the defending champions with an impressive 5-1 aggregate victory.

Declan Rice heroics in the first leg saw the team secure a resounding 3-0 victory before the reverse fixure in Santiago Bernabeu.

Despite going down by three goals in the first leg, there was a seething optimism in the ranks of Real Madrid fans that the team can pull a comeback against the Gunners.

However, after 90 minutes of action, Arsenal proved to be the better side, matching Los Blancos pace throughout the game to secure an unlikely victory.

The first half ended barren but Saka had got the chance to put the Gunners ahead only to have his panenka penalty saved by Thibaut Courtouis.

Notably, Real Madrid registered 0 shot on target throughout the first half and were struggling to wrestle down Arsenal’s brink wall defence.

Late into the second half, Arsenal went into the lead through Bukayo Saka after a quick and fast counter attack.

However, the lead was short-lived a few minutes later due to William Saliba’s costly defensive error. The French center-back tarried on the ball after receiving a pass from David Raya and was dispossessed by Vinicius Jr who then slot into the net.

The game was poised to end on a draw with the scores tied at 1-1 but a late counter by Arsenal saw Gabriel Martinelli pick on Declan Rice’s through-ball and then dropped Thibaut Courtouis to score the winner for the Gunners.

It ended 2-1 after the final whistle with Arsenal progressing to the semi-finals on a 5-1 aggregate victory.
