Bayern Munich vs Inter UCL Quarter-final Preview, Lineup, Kickoff, & Prediction

Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich will trade tackles with Serie A champions Inter Milan in the first leg of the 2024-25 UEFA Champions League quarter-final tonight, MySportDab reports.

Bayern Munich defeated domestic rivals Bayer Leverkusen to qualify for the quarterfinals while Inter Milan saw off Feyenoord to secure a spot in the last eight. Who is likely to qualify for the next round of the competition between these two? Here is our preview for the match.

Head to head

It will be a rollercoaster that is likely to go either way. The two teams boast impressive precedents in the UEFA Champions League but the most compelling is Bayern Munich’s exceptional home record.

Since 2021, Bayern Munich have yet to lose a Champions League match at home. They have won 17 and drew five. Inter Milan have also been formidable in the competition lately, reaching the final in the 2022 edition.

Notably, Bayern Munich have exerted a reasonable late dominance over Inter. They have won four of their last five meetings and will head into this match as the favorites.

Team News

Bayern are grappling with a grinding Injury crisis ahead of this match. Their first-choice goalkeeper Manuel Nuer is out with a calf injury.

Alphonso Davies is sidelined till the end of the season with a knee injury. Another notable absentee is Jamal  Musiala who is out with a hamstring issue.

Inter Milan will miss Kristjan Asllani due to suspension. Denzel Dumfries is also out with a thigh injury. Others on the Nerazzurri’s injury list are Piotr Zieliński (calf), Valentín Carboni (cruciate ligament) and Mehdi Taremi (adductor).

Prediction & kickoff

Inter Milan are the favourites heading into this match. They have yet to taste defeat in the Champions League since 2021 and will hope to build on that record. Nevertheless, Inter are likely to prove a tough nut to crack. We are tipping Bayern Munich to win but by a narrow goal margin.
