First Half Report

It was an engaging first half between the two sides but Morocco kick-started proceedings with a more dominant display.

The 2022 World semifinalists held the Brazilians to ransom with a marathon of early pressure, pacing down the opponents’ box at ease.

The Brazilians were able to come back into the game early enough in the 15th minute but struggled to keep off the pressure from the Moroccans.

In the 29th minute, Boufai turned 360′ after receiving a pass to fire a left-footed finish pass Weverton in goal to give Morocco the lead.

After a near-lackluster show by Brazil leading to the opening goal by the Moroccans, the South American giants regrouped and aimed vigorously for an equaliser before the break.

The Moroccans reined in the late pressure and hold to their lead before the first-half break.

Second Half Report

Morocco surprisedly dominated play as the second half began despite being in the lead.

However, the Brazilians were able to pull a comeback with new captain and Manchester United midfield sensation scoring to draw the game level in the 68th minute.

After Casemiro’s equaliser, Morocco ramped up attempts to return to the lead with their head coach Walid Regragui making some changes to the squad.

After a marathon of pressure, Morocco earned their deserved lead as Sabiri hits a 79th-minute winner to make it 2-1 for the home side.

Brazil regrouped and attempted to salvage something from the game, but it was too late as the Moroccans held on to grab a famous 2-1 win after the final whistle.
