FT: Liverpool 4-0 Southampton, Diogo Jota Bags BRACE! | HIGHLIGHTS

Diogo Jota scored a brace as Liverpool thrashed Southampton 4-0 with the likes of Virgil van Dijk and Thiago Alcantara on target, MySportDab reports.

First Half Report

It was all about the Reds sweeping their opponent aside in the first half of the encounter which was raining goals all through.

It took Liverpool 2 minutes to score the opening goal which came through Diogo Jota after a good display saw him teamed up with Andrew Robertson to make it 1-0.

Southampton couldn’t make anything happen as they carried on with the game ensuring the goal did not increase beyond how it looked against them.

Another goal for Diogo Jota in the 32nd minute of the first half saw the Portuguese making it his brace and 2-0 with Mohamed Salah assisting.

The game continued with Thiago Alcantara scoring a stunner which saw the scoreline increase to 3-0 from an outstanding finish which came in the 37th minute.

It ended in the first half of the encounter with Liverpool taking a 3-0 advantage into the break against Southampton after an amazing 45 minutes of football played.

Second Half Report

The second half resumed with the same pace it ended in the first 45 minutes which saw the home side dominating things with an advantage on their side.

Southampton continued doing all the work needed to be done as they push forward hoping to hit back while they also positioned more bodies to defend themselves from conceding.

Virgil van Dijk increased the lead for Liverpool 52nd minute after he finished off a Deadball situation which was delivered by Trent Alexander Arnold to make things 4-0.

It was looking very good for the Reds who continued to control the game in their favor as they approached the final few minutes left to be played.

The game ended with Liverpool claiming all three points after a 4-0 win against Southampton to jump to second place on the Premier League table.
