“He’s Won Nothing” – Gabon FA President Urges Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang To QUIT Arsenal

Gabon FA President Jean-Pierre Mounguengui has urged striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to leave Arsenal they can’t fulfil his ambitions, MySportDab reports.

Aubameyang signed for Arsenal from Borussia Dortmund in January 2018 and is now the club captain.

Despite his impressive scoring record of 61 goals in 97 matches, Aubameyang has not won a single trophy at the club or play in the UEFA Champions League.

The Gabon international turns 31 in June and time is running out for him to win any major trophy.

‘I’m not saying that Arsenal aren’t ambitious, but Arsenal lack bigger ambitions as some other clubs as far in Europe,’ Mounguengui told ESPN.

‘So if Aubameyang could switch to a more ambitious club, he will definitely play in the first team.

‘Individually, we see him as one of the best players in the world, but my advice for him is to continue working hard and to attract the biggest, ambitious clubs out there.’

A Champions League return for Arsenal still looks unlikely, and Mounguengui continued: ‘Aubameyang is truly world class, but for anyone else in Europe who hasn’t won a major trophy, football is played together.

‘Now, he’s an Arsenal player, and he’s won nothing, so the whole club is failing.’

Aubameyang is now under his third Arsenal Coach in Mikel Arteta, but the Gunners are eight points off the top four slots before the coronavirus crisis stopped football.
