Arsenal Begin Talks With Barcelona Over Matteo Guendouzi And Philippe Coutinho Swap Deal

Arsenal have opened talks with Barcelona over a potential swap deal for midfielder Philippe Coutinho, MySportDab reports.

Coach Mikel Arteta has recently admitted he has “concerns” the Gunners won’t spend this summer.

A swap deal is a very lucrative way to improve the Arsenal Squad without any transfer fee involved.

According to The Daily Mail, Arsenal are working hard to sign former Liverpool player Phillipe Coutinho.

The Brazilian has failed to impressed at the Nou Camp and was loaned to Bayern Munich this season.

While at Bayern, the 28-year-old still failed to secure a first team spot.

MySportDab understands that Coutinho wants to return to the Premier League where he enjoyed the best of his football career.

And The Daily Mail claim Arsenal are willing to offer Barcelona midfielder Matteo Guendouzi for Coutinho.

Arteta got angry at Guendouzi after he grabbed Neil Maupay’s throat during a recent match against Brighton.

Guendouzi was also not included in the squad which defeated Manchester City 2-0 to reach the FA Cup final.

MySportDab can confirm that Arsenal remain in close contact with Coutinho’s representatives.

However, Coutinho’s agent Kia Joorabchian has admitted that his client favours a return to English football.

“He has the desire to play again in the Premier League some day,” he told Sky Sports.

“It may not be this year, it may be this year, no one knows, We are yet to talk about anything for now.”
