Spanish La Liga Football Restart Date CONFIRMED By Spain Prime Minister

Spain Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez has confirmed that the Spanish La Liga can restart from June 8 as coronavirus measures are eased in the country, MySportDab reports. 

Football has been stopped since March due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

This means Real Madrid and rivals Barcelona and will again battle it out for the Spanish La Liga title with 11 games left.

Spain decided against scrapping the season like France and Netherlands as they were hopeful the season could be completed.

On the league table, Barca and Real Madrid are separated by only two points.

MySportDab understands Spanish La Liga players started training last weeks in small groups.

However, there is a huge Boost for football to return in Spain in June.

Clubs like Sevilla, Getafe, Real Sociedad and Atletico Madrid are in a battle to qualify for the Champions League next season.

Fans can’t attend matches in stadiums and there will be strict laws to ensure everything goes smoothly.

Spanish Prime Minister said: “Spain has done everything it should and now new ways are opening for everyone. It is time to bring back many daily activities.

“On 8 June, La Liga will return.”

The Spanish 2nd division will also resume on the same date.
