Manchester United Push To Sign Calvin Bassey

Manchester United are being linked with a move for Nigeria and Fulham defender, Calvin Bassey ahead of the January transfer window.

Michael Carrick is expected to carry on with his job after seeing his side turned a 2-0 deficit to 3-2 victory against Roma in the UEFA Champions League.

Those at Manchester United are looking to keep him around with hopes of seeing the team start picking up results after their horrible start to the season.

Meanwhile, there are talks of the club not making the right moves despite bringing in some quality players during the summer transfer window.

The club are already looking at possible targets before the January transfer window opens for business. Calvin Bassey is one of those names who they are hoping to sign in January.

There are reports that the player’s contract is coming to an end. His current contract makes him a good target for the club who are not looking to go big in the January window.

The Nigeria defender could come in as a top quality to help resolve the situation with Manchester United defense which isn’t looking good at the moment.

However, despite the strong link, there is no confirmed move from Manchester United to either Fulham or Calvin Bassey’s agent as the January window approaches.

According to Transfer News Live, they confirmed the latest update concerning the situation on ground.

“Manchester United are considering a January move for Fulham centre-back Calvin Bassey.

“The 26-year-old has impressed United scouts, and he could be tempted to leave if the club make an offer.

“His contract expires next summer, although Fulham hold an option to extend it by another year.

A move for the defender is currently a possibility as other clubs are also looking at his situation which they could see as an advantage to make an attempt.

For now, Calvin Bassey is committing to seeing out his contract with Fulham which is coming to an end soon. The club are also working on extending his contract after handing him their captain armband.
