Manchester United dominated possession but initially found it difficult to break down the visitors who kept it good with their defending.
The away side showed good discipline in the opening stages and managed to frustrate the home side for nearly half an hour.
However, United’s quality eventually made the difference. The breakthrough arrived in the 28th minute, thanks to a wonderful teamwork effort from the Premier League side.
Sabah lost possession in midfield, allowing United to launch a quick attack. The move involved Benjamin Sesko, Bruno Fernandes, and Patrick Dorgu before the wing-back delivered a dangerous low cross into the penalty area.
Matheus Cunha reacted first and finished from close range to make it 1-0. It was Cunha’s first UEFA Champions League goal and it gave United the lead they deserved.
Patrick Dorgu was credited with the assist for the opening goal of the encounter. United continued to push forward and doubled their advantage in the 43rd minute.
The move started when Youri Tielemans found Dorgu on the left side. Dorgu combined with Cunha before the Brazilian played the ball into the box.
Tielemans collected possession and laid it back perfectly for captain Bruno Fernandes, who calmly placed his finish into the net as the scoreline became 2-0.
The assist officially went to Tielemans after his clever setup for the Portuguese midfielder. Just before the halftime whistle, Manchester United struck again to make it 3-0.
In the 45th minute, Kobbie Mainoo started the attack with a pass to Bruno Fernandes. The captain switched play to Bryan Mbeumo, who quickly released Benjamin Sesko through on goal.

The second half was more controlled from the home side. United managed possession well and limited Sabah’s opportunities against them.
Michael Carrick also made several substitutions to keep his players fresh ahead of upcoming domestic fixtures during the weekend.
While the visitors tried to find a way back into the contest, the Premier League side remained comfortable throughout the second period.
The fourth and final goal came in the 69th minute. A free-kick situation caused confusion inside the Azerbaijan’s club penalty area.
After a series of confusion involving several players, the ball fell kindly to Lisandro Martinez. The Argentine defender reacted quickly and smashed the ball into the net from close range to complete the 4-0 scoreline.
