Christian Eriksen has decided to part ways with German club Wolfsburg following his recent incident while playing.
The former Tottenham and Manchester United hasn’t been himself lately since his recent incident on the pitch in 2026.
Christian Eriksen had been enjoying his time in Germany after leaving the Premier League where he played for Brentford and Manchester United.
After his first incident while playing for Denmark, he fought his way back and had the opportunity of returning to the Premier League.
However, it seems this time around will be a different one for his career as his contract was recently terminated by his club.
According to Touchline, they confirmed the player has parted ways with Wolfsburg following the termination of his contract.
“Christian Eriksen has terminated his contract with Wolfsburg by mutual agreement, just three months after collapsing during a Denmark match.
“The 34-year-old has not played since the incident and now wants to be closer to his family in Denmark.
“There is currently no clarity over whether Eriksen will continue his football career.
This comes after his recent collapse which has been since three months ago it all happened while playing.
It was once again for the national team in June 7, 2026, during an international friendly between Denmark and Ukraine in Odense.
During the 65th minute, Eriksen clutched his chest and collapsed off the ball. The game was immediately stopped as the medical team rushed in to attend to him.
It was confirmed that his implantable cardioverter-defibrillator detected a dangerous arrhythmia and delivered a corrective shock.
The corrective shock was the actual reason he had the whole incident, but he quickly regained himself and walked off the pitch.
Three months after the incident, Wolfsburg confirmed that they have terminated Christian Eriksen contract by mutual agreement from the player who is also willing to walk away.
