Former England international Raheem Sterling has been arrested on suspicion of drug-driving after a single-vehicle collision on the M3 motorway in Hampshire, adding further uncertainty to a career that has faced several challenges in recent years.
Hampshire Police confirmed that a Lamborghini crashed into motorway barriers near the Minley Interchange shortly before 9 a.m. on Thursday. No other vehicles were involved in the incident, and no injuries were reported.
The 31-year-old winger was arrested on suspicion of driving while unfit through drugs, dangerous driving, possession of a Class C drug, and failing to provide a specimen. Police later released him on bail while investigations continue.

In a statement, Hampshire Police said a man from Berkshire had been arrested in connection with the incident and that enquiries remain ongoing.
Sources close to Sterling have stressed that the allegations have not been proven and that no official findings regarding substances in his system have been made public. The former Manchester City star has not yet commented on the matter.
The incident comes during a difficult period in Sterling’s career. Once regarded as one of England’s most influential attacking players, he enjoyed tremendous success with Liverpool and Manchester City, winning four Premier League titles, five League Cups and the FA Cup.
Sterling also played a key role for England, scoring 20 goals in 82 appearances and helping the Three Lions reach the 2018 FIFA World Cup semi-finals and the Euro 2020 final.
His move to Chelsea in 2022 failed to produce the expected impact, and subsequent spells with Arsenal and Dutch side Feyenoord yielded limited success.
After leaving Chelsea by mutual consent earlier this year, Sterling joined Feyenoord on a short-term deal and made eight league appearances.
With his future already the subject of speculation, the ongoing police investigation has created another challenge for the experienced forward. Authorities are expected to provide further updates as enquiries continue.
