Casemiro Reaches Verbal Agreement to Sign with Inter Miami

Casemiro has reached a verbal agreement to join Inter Miami once he completes the current season with Manchester United.

After a resurgent final season at Manchester United, the five-time Champions League winner has reportedly chosen South Florida over lucrative offers from the Saudi Pro League and various European giants.

This move marks a massive shift for Major League Soccer, further cementing Inter Miami’s status as a global powerhouse.

Casemiro’s departure comes after an emotional send-off at Old Trafford. Following Manchester United’s 3-2 victory over Nottingham Forest.

The veteran midfielder was seen applauding the Stretford End in what was his final home appearance for the club.

Despite having a 12-month extension option in his contract, both the player and the club now under the permanent leadership of Michael Carrick mutually agreed that this was the right moment for a fresh start.

Casemiro leaves Manchester after four seasons, having helped the club secure a return to the Champions League with a third-place finish in the 2025/26 Premier League campaign.

Casemiro has made it clear to all suitors that he has picked Inter Miami,” reported transfer expert Ben Jacobs.

Miami successfully beat out interest from LA Galaxy and several Italian clubs like Juventus who were both interested in making a move happen.

Strategic Importance and Roster Logistics
For Inter Miami, signing Casemiro is a masterstroke of roster management.

The club is reportedly looking at him as a vital anchor to replace or rotate with the aging Sergio Busquets, providing a defensive steel that has occasionally been lacking.

However, the deal isn’t without its hurdles. To finalize the signing before the MLS transfer window opens on July 13, Inter Miami must navigate the league’s complex financial rules.

The timing of the verbal agreement is intentional. Casemiro is expected to officially sign before the 2026 FIFA World Cup kicks off in North America this June.

Representing Brazil in his third World Cup, he reportedly wanted his club future settled so he could focus entirely on leading the Seleção.

As Casemiro prepares for his final game in a Manchester United shirt against Brighton this weekend, the fans in Miami are already preparing their welcome for a man who has won it all and is now ready to conquer the States.

The move to Inter Miami will be made official after his final game for Manchester United, which will be the last time he puts on the Premier League club kit as a player.
