Three Surprise Names Make Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s ‘Managers Shortlist’ To Replace Erik Ten Hag

Sir Jim Ratcliffe is yet to be convinced of Erik ten Hag’s capability to drive his transformation agenda as he sets out for a historic journey to turn around the fortunes of Manchester United, MySportDab reports.

The new Manchester co-owner has three priority target managers to replace Erik ten Hag should he decide to part ways with the Dutch at the end of the season, as per reports.

This follows reports there is a feeling in United dressing room that the INEOS supremo, who is helming over footballing affairs at Old Trafford, will part ways with ten Hag.

The former Ajax managers’ inconsistent domestic and European campaign this season has seen United teetered on the brink of missing Champions League football next season.

Amidst growing uncertainties over the future of Erik ten Hag at the dugout at Old Trafford in Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s dispensation, a report shared by the Mirror says the UK billionaire investor has three top names on his managers’ shortlist to replace ten Hag.

Leading the name of priority targets for the Nice owner is England national team manager Gareth Southgate, who is considered based on his experience in the football landscape in England.

Gareth Southgate will run out of his contract with the England national team in December 2024 with the 2024 Euros being his last major tournament with the team.

Brighton manager Roberto De Zerbi is also on the list following his impressive campaign with the Seagulls in the Premier League.

Roberto De Zerbi qualified Brighton to their first-ever European competition after he led the team to finish 6th on the Premier League table last season – their best Premier League finish.

Brentford manager Thomas Frank is also on the list. Thomas Frank has been tipped as one of the most impressive managers in the Premier League after he led the Bees to promotion and kept the team in the English top flight.

Despite reports of a possible premature exit for Erik ten Hag before his contract expires in 2025, the Dutch still has a chance to prove himself by qualifying Manchester United for Champions League football next season.
