BREAKING! Kobbie Mainoo Promoted To England Senior National Team

Manchester United youngster Kobbie Mainoo has been promoted to England senior national team following his standout performances for Manchester United in the Premier League, MySportDab reports.

The 18-year-old fast-rising youngster was tipped to earn a call-up for England senior national team for his composed and mature performances since his breakout.

Ahead of March international break, Gareth Southgate named his 25-man squad with Kobbie Mainoo omitted from the squad.

Explaining his decision to leave out Mainoo from the squad, Southgate said the youngster needed more time to polish his game before earning a call-up for England national team.

Now, as per reports shared by Fabrizio Romano, Mainoo has been called up for the first time for England senior national team and will be expected to linkup with the squad ahead of March international friendly.

England will take on Brazil on March 26 before playing Belgium on March 26 in a double-header friendly next week.

Mainoo plays as a defensive midfielder for Manchester United but may likely switch role in Gareth Southgate’s lineup.

Before integrating Mainoo to his England setup, Southgate hinted Mainoo would be deployed more as an attacking midfielder in his squad due to his flair for an offensive play in the middle.

Meanwhile, it is yet to be determined whether the youngster will make his first England appearance with Jude Bellingham and James Maddison leading the list of top midfield call-ups for the international friendly.

Despite the competition in England’s midfield lineup, Mainoo is expected to break through the ranks to cement his place in Southgate’s squad due to his immense talent.

With his timely promotion into England senior setup, the 2024 Euros could be Mainoo’s first major international tournament as he is more likely to make Southgate’s squad for the competition.
