OFFICIAL! Arsenal Confirm Decision On European Super League!

Arsenal have issued an official statement to clarify their position on the belated European Super League after court ruling, MySportDab reports.

The European Court of  Justice on Thursday, December 22, 2023 ruled that UEFA and FIFA breached European competition law by trying to block football clubs from joining the European Super League.

The judgement has been met with a barrage of reactions with several clubs declaring their allegiance and support for domestic league associations and UEFA.

Before the landmark judgement by the European Court of Justice, MySportDab understood there were feelers that the 15-man judicial panel sitting at Luxembourg will ruled against FIFA and UEFA.

Hence, there were underground moves by the likes of Nasser Al Khelaifi, who is the president of European Clubs Association, to get clubs to sign that they will not abandon Champions League and other UEFA associations for European Super League.

At the instance of the court’s ruling, clubs acted out their predetermined moves openly denying the European Super League and reiterating their allegiance and solidarity with UEFA.

Manchester United were among the first set of clubs who issued statement rejecting the European Super League for UEFA club competitions.

Bayern Munich, Inter Milan, Borussia Dortmund, PSG, Atletico Madrid, Real Sociedad, Manchester City, and other top clubs also issued statements in solidarity with UEFA.

Now, Arsenal have also confirmed their decision on the European Super League;

Arsenal club statement reads;

“Our position in relation to the European Super League has not changed. We will continue to play in UEFA competitions and continue to work with fellow European clubs and the European Club Association (ECA)”.
