Manchester City players swung into wild celebrations after being crowned the 2022/23 Premier League champions, MySportDab reports.
Manchester City players were all together watching the Nottingham Forest Vs Arsenal Premier League clash.
Arsenal needed a win against the Tricky Trees to stay put on the Premier League title race.
But it was a shocker at City Ground as Nigeria international, Taiwo Awoniyi’s 19th minute low shot separated the two sides.
Martin Oddegard mistakenly passed the ball to Morgan Gibbs-White before the latter broke on a counter and pace through the middle.
Taiwo Awoniyi quickly opened up for Gibbs-White throughball before beating the challenge from Gabriel Jesus and Aaron Ramsdale to volley home what turned out the match winner.
In a viral footage shared on Manchester City’s social media handle, Manchester City players could be seen sitting together and watching the game with keen interest.
As the match approached the end, expectant City players could be seen in the video (available at the end of this post)
counting down to the final whistle.
At the blast of the final whistle, the players broke into wild celebrations shouting and celebrating Nottingham Forest’s victory over Arsenal that has gifted them the Premier League title even with three matches in hand.
It was a shambolic display by the Gunners at City Ground.
It was thought the Gunners will extend Manchester City’s wait for the Premier League title until their game against Chelsea.
But the first half blunder by Matin Odeggard was enough to cap the club’s final capitulation in the 2022/23 Premier League title race.
It is Manchester City’s 6th Premier League title since they won it in 2011/12 season, ending their four decades wait.
They have now won it three times on a row and could become the first team to win it four times if they defend it again next season.
The Citizens have now won a total of nine Premier League titles in the club’s history
