FT: West Ham 1-0 Manchester United, Red Devils Suffer DEFEAT! (VIDEO HIGHLIGHTS)

First Half Report

West Ham got the game to a frantic start, dominating proceedings and pushing for an early goal.

With Liverpool closing in on the top four race, Manchester United needed a win against the London club to keep their top four hopes alive.

A win could have seen the Red Devils leapfrog Newcastle to the third position after the latter lost to Arsenal in the early kickoff.

But it was a disappointing start for Manchester United against West Ham as they struggled to have the game in control.

Just few minutes into the kickoff, West Ham hit the woodwork and force David De Gea into a fire save.

After a marathon of pressure from West Ham, Benrahma finally gave the host the lead firing a low shot pass David de Gea from outside the box to make it 1-0.

West Ham took a deserved 1-0 lead into the first half break.

Second Half Report

West Ham were still threatening Man United defense as the second half kicked off with Antonio and Benrahma continuing to cause the Red Devils problems.

Manchester United failed to create a clearcut chance in the game but were able to hit the woodwork twice before the first half break.

The Red Devils needed to up their game as they continued to play second fiddle to the home side.

West Ham nearly destroyed comeback hopes for Manchester United when Antonio scored a back kick to double the lead after a cornerkick but the goal was ruled out after he fouled David de Gea in the buildup.

The host still dominated play and continue to assert their presence in the game with Manchester United showing no signs of salvaging an equaliser.

The game finally ended with West Ham winning 1-0 after the final whistle.
