Manchester City Removes Erling Haaland Release Clause!

Manchester City have removed Erling Haaland’s release clause while plotting another move on his contract at the club, MySportDab reports.

Haaland has been a top transfer target for Real Madrid who plotted to trigger his release clause in 2024.

The Norwegian goal poacher himself has once reiterated his dream of playing in Santiago Bernabeu for Real Madrid.

Hence, Manchester City have been scampering tooth and nail to have him stay at Etihad after his superlative perfomance for the club.

Erling Haaland has made his mark in the Premier League for Manchester City in his debut season.

He has scored 32 Premier League goals for the club in 30 appearances and has taken his tally to 47 goals in all competitions for City.

Amidst Real Madrid interest, Manchester City are making moves to ensure Erling Haaland is tied down to the club.

According to the Athletic, Erling Haaland’s release clause which was pegged at £173m has been removed.

The removal was reportedly made when Pep Guardiola signed a contract extension with Manchester City, extending his stay at Etihad till 2025.

There are reports the club will fix a new release clause which is yet to be done.

Also, Manchester City are also planning to make amends on Erling Haaland’s wage earning at the club to motivate him to stay and also deter interest from suitors as per Daily Mail.

Erling Haaland is one of the highest earners at Manchester City. His weekly wages reportedly adds up to a whooping £864,000 when sponsorships and endorsement deals are added.

Daily Mail reports Manchester City are ready to increase Erling Haaland’s wage earning at the club to convince him to stay amidst interest from suitors.

Erling Haaland’s current contract at Manchester City runs till 2027 and the club are already planning to extend it less than a year after he joined the club.
