FT: England 1-1 Brazil, Lionesses Win First Women Finalissima Via Penalties (VIDEO HIGHLIGHTS)

England claimed a 4-2 victory against Brazil in the Women Finalissima final via penalties after a 1-1 draw, MySportDab reports.

The game was forced into penalties which the Women of England were able to complete the job for themselves.

First Half Report 

Both women national team came in prepared but it was the Brazilians missing some of their big names who couldn’t take part of the match.

Brazil started well as they were well composed and did everything perfectly but couldn’t hit the back of the net as they continued the match.

England were equally in the match which saw them having a fair amount of play as they hit the first 20 minutes of the game with nothing happening between them.

Ella Toone made it count in the 23rd minutes which a clinical finish which saw the Lionesses taking the well deserved 1-0 lead as they carried on going forward.

England Women took the narrow 1-0 lead heading into the break which saw them doing so well with Brazil unable to peg a comeback in the 45 minutes.

Second Half Report 

The second half was tighter as both teams were more cautious of how they allow the ball get played in their defense all through.

England were comfortable knowing they had the lead and also showed some urgency with the back of their mind seeing the advantage as nothing.

Brazil were really missing their biggest names as they couldn’t make anything of their opportunities despite all the amount of time they had them coming in the game.

The game progressed further with a lot of play happening, no goal was able to be scored between them as the whole encounter was just too close.

Andressa Alves da Silva scored a late one in the match which saw them heading for the 90 minutes break with a 1-1 level scoreline.

England were able to get the job done by making sure they win via penalties 4-2 against Brazil who weren’t that bad from their end.
