Luke Shaw Signs New Long-term Contract With Manchester United! (Details)

Manchester United defender has reportedly signed a new long-term contract with Manchester United, MySportDab reports.

The England left-back joined Manchester United in 2014 and is now set to register his presence at the Old Trafford club for over ten years after his new contract.

He has reportedly penned a four-year contract extension with Manchester United which will extend his stay at Manchester United to 13 years.

According to the Athletic, Manchester United and Luke Shaw engaged in a smooth and hitch-free contract extension talks which ended well.

The England star is said to have accepted and signed the four-year proposal put forward by Manchester United.

He will now be a part of Manchester United’s setup under new manager Erik Ten Hag.

Notably, Luke Shaw has been an integral part of the Manchester United new setup under Erik Ten Hag.

He has made 35 appearances for the club This season under Erik Ten Hag, scoring one goal and delivering six assists.

His previous Manchester United contract was set to expire in 2024 and the club had already made moves to keep him at Old Trafford by triggering the extension clause to ward off interest from potential suitors.

The extension clause was triggered in December to buy time for contract extension which has finally been achieved.

In total, Luke Shaw has played 170 games for the Red Devils since joining from Southampton in 2014.

While Luke Shaw’s Manchester United future has been settled, David de Gea’s is still hanging in the balance.

The Spaniard reportedly rejected Manchester United’s new offer due to slashed wages.

However, talks between the two parties is said to be progressing.

Marcus Rashford is also making the headlines after he came out to debunk reports he is making demands for increased wages to sign a new contract with the club.
