Arsenal have crashed out of the Europa League after losing on 3-5 on penalties following a thrilling 3-3 aggregate draw, MySportDab reports.

Arsenal still dominated play as the second half began despite taking the lead.

Sporting CP gave no formidable response despite trailing the Premier League side and continued defending inside the box as the Gunners pressed more for a goal.

But the away began to emerge stronger into the in the 60th minute and made their resurgence count in the 62nd when Concalves scored a spectacular goal to bring the game to a 1-1 draw.

Arteta made immediate substitutions to return to the lead to no avail as both sides went into extra time after 3-3 aggregate draw after regulation time.

Extra time

Arsenal dominated both both halves of the 30 minutes extra time but could break the goal deadlock again.

The match went into penalty shootout. Sporting CP converted all their penalties while Gabriel Martinelli missed his penalty as Arsenal crash out of the competition.
