Edouard Mendy Asked To Leave Chelsea At the End Of The Season! (Details)

Chelsea goalkeeper Edouard Mendy has been asked to leave Chelsea at the end of the season, MySportDab reports.

Edouard Mendy recently return from a spell on the sidelines to Chelsea training.

His contract with Chelsea runs out next season but contract renewal talks between him and the club have stalled.

Chelsea have been eager to renew his deal but the contract renewal talks have suffered setbacks.

The Blues reportedly offered the Senegal international a new six-year contract but he turned it down due to low pay.

Now, Chelsea are intent on clearing their over-bloated squad at the end of the season with some players to be axed from the club.

Graham Potter had hinted at the over-bloated number of players in the team and the need to purge the squad to reduce wage spending.

According to the Mirror, Edouard Mendy has been listed as one of the players to be axed in the season after both parties failed to agree on contract renewal.

He has been told he can leave the club in the summer although he has 18 months remaining on his contract.

Mendy joined Chelsea in 2020 and has 49 clean sheets in his 104 games for the club.

He has won the Champions League and the FIFA Club World Cup with the team under former manager Thomas Tuchel.

Under Graham Potter, Edouard Mendy has lost his starting berth to Kepa Arrizabalaga.
