BBC Make SHOCK U-turn On Gary Lineker After Political Tweet Row!

Gary Lineker sparked a Twitter row with his contractors British Broadcasting Corporation, BBC, after he blasted a proposed bill to arrest, detain, and deport illegal migrants arriving the shores of the UK, MySportDab reports.

Taking to his Twitter handle, Gary Lineker likened the proposed bill which was put forward by UK Parliamentarian and Home Secretary Suella Braverman as synonymous with the Nazi schemes of the 1930s led by Adolf Hitler in Germany.

Gary Lineker wrote;

“This is just an immeasurably cruel policy directed at the most vulnerable people in language that is not dissimilar to that used by Germany in the 30s, and I’m out of order?”

His tweet was met with fury by BBC who insisted the veteran football journalist and the presenter must be apolitical and have breached guidelines with the tweet.

The corporation, led by a conservative member, Tim Davies, suspended Gary Lineker from his presenting duties, pending a review of his social media policy in line with terms of his contract.

Lineker, 62, has been the voice of BBC’s flagship football show – Match of The Day.

The football veteran has been a known voice and host of the program which has commanded millions of global audiences since 1992.

Following his suspension from the role, his co-hosts and pals Ian Wright, Jermaine Jenas, Alex Scott, Micah Richards, and Alan Shearer boycotted the show in solidarity with the beleaguered presenter.

Yesterday, Match of the Day Show was a shadow of itself without the lyrical tones of the English football veteran.

The show was reduced to just 20 minutes and was orphaned without the presenters, commentators, and pundits.

Global listeners took swipes on the BBC for a reckless decision to suspend Gary Lineker after airing his political views.

Others argued Gary Lineker is just a freelancer on contract with the corporation and cannot be tied down to the extant political cleavages of the organization.

Some rivals organizations have already lined up offers for Gary Lineker after the bust-up with BBC, with Daily Mail confirming the veteran presenter may likely bag a deal three times his £1.3m contract with the BBC.

Leading the list of broadcast agencies interested in offering Gary Lineker a contract is two UK Sport behemoths – BT Sport and ITV Sport.

However, a new report has emerged BBC are ready to make a U-turn on their decision to suspend Lineker and are willing to call him back.

BBC Director General, who is a former Conservative candidate, Tim Davies is willing to have Gary back.

Addressing the faceoff yesterday, Tim Davies said ‘‘We are working very hard to resolve the situation and make sure we get output back on air.”

As things stand, it is still unclear whether Gary Lineker will favor a return or not but it is certain he will not be forced to retrieve his Twitter comment as a condition to return.
