Raheem Sterling missed England’s game against Senegal due to a family incident in the UK, MySportDab reports.

Armed burglars broke into his home while his girlfriend and kids were around, so he had to return back to the UK.

The Chelsea winger rushed home to check on his family after the shocking raid on his property Surrey on Saturday.

Police were visited the crib over the weekend and security stayed around the luxurious estate until on Sunday.

Now, Sterling’s teammates are considering increasing security at their homes after this latest incident.

Most of the England’s WAGs watched the 3-0 win against Senegal at the Al Bayt Stadium on Sunday.

However, many have left and returned to Qatar for matches during the tournament to focus on other areas.

Sterling’s girlfriend, Paige Milian, 27, shared pictures of a cruise ship in Doha before the game against Iran game, but returned to the UK on Saturday.

The English FA released a statement before kick off that Sterling would miss the game due to family issues.

News of Sterling omission surprised his teammates after the team meeting.

Southgate confirmed the winger returned back to the UK, but was not sure if he would arrive back in Qatar.

According to The Sun, Valuables worth over £300,000 were stolen during the robbery.

Speaking about Sterling after the Three Lions’ win over Senegal, Southgate said: ‘The priority for him is his family.

‘He has our fully support and can take as much time as he needs.

‘He’s returned home. I don’t plan to pressure him. Sometimes family comes first.’
